Foutain Pen

I have a pen fetish.

( Can I get a "me too" Marty ? )

I am obsessed with ink pens. Finding the "perfect" writing utensil is a constant quest for me... This is actually a little funny if you know me b/c I have pretty bad carpal tunnel syndrome and the act of writing for more than a few minutes is very painful for me.

I have tried ball points, gel pens, roller balls, .05mm and .07mm pencils...

I am partial to a couple of brands...

The Cross Morph has been a recent favorite of mine, while any pen by BIC is right out.

As I continue in this quest for the perfect writing implement I often come across people who swear by their fountain pens. I have always wanted to try a fountain pen, but never taken the time to fiddle with one, so this morning while browsing the Barnes & Noble at Newport I picked up a (very cheap) fountain pen.

In my trial run I made a huge mess... got ink all over a clean sheet of paper, all over my finger-tips, and all over several paper napkins I was using as blotters...

BUT!
I think I like it!

Getting nice even strokes so that I didn't smear the ink all over the page took me some getting used to, but overall I think I am smitten...

I will continue to play with the "el cheapo" model that I am currently have until I'm out of ink for it, and then maybe I will upgrade to a nicer one.

You put the "very cheap" in there for me. I am very curious to see it and see how it works.

If you like your "cheap" fountain pen, just wait until you step up to a not-so-cheap fountain pen. And if you're a pen fancier, I'm sure you will! There's just something about fountain pens. It's fun to watch the ink dry as I write. I'm funny about my pens. I have to use one (good or bad) until the ink is all gone. If I lose it or if someone steals it, I'm not a happy camper!!
